Carter Selected ECAC Pitcher of the Week
Talk about Endicott baseball on Twitter:

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – For the second straight week, an Endicott baseball player has followed a conference player of the week award with the same honor from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Endicott sophomore pitcher Steven Carter (Brunswick, Maine) was selected as the Division III NEW England ECAC pitcher of the week for the week ending March 25th.

Carter pitched a total of nine innings last week, collecting a 0.00 earned-run average, eight strikeouts and allowing six hits. In a 7-0 victory over Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rival Nichols College, Carter earned a complete game shutout, while striking out six and holding the Bison to only three hits.

In a tough 8-7 loss to powerhouse Wheaton, Carter kept the Gulls in the game by pitching two innings, striking out two and allowing just one unearned run.

Carter is the second player honored by the ECAC this year, after Tad Gold (Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.) was named hitter of the week for his performance in Florida.

The Gulls are coming off of a 16-4 non-conference victory at Worcester State yesterday and have won four of their last five games. Endicott will travel to Eastern Nazarene on Saturday and Western New England on Sunday for four important CCC contests.
