COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT® RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's soccer senior Jaymie Caponigro (Swampscott, Mass.) has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® First Team honors, as announced by the organization earlier this week.
Caponigro will now appear on the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team, which will be voted on by Sports Information Directors (SIDs) across the country in late June.
Caponigro is the fourth student-athlete in program history to claim CoSIDA Academic All-District® accolades joining Endicott Hall of Famer Colleen Pepin '12, Chelsea Garlock '13, and Caitlin Peters '13 on the list. Additionally, Caponigro was the only student-athlete from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) chosen to this year's CoSIDA Academic All-District® Teams.
Academically, Caponigro currently sports a 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as a graphic design major.
Caponigro also is a two-time CCC Academic All-Conference honoree, a multiple Dean's List honoree, and a member of the Leaders of the Endicott Athletics Department (EC L.E.A.D.).
Her experiential learning opportunities have included internships at Lynn Main Streets, Female Fan Nation – which was featured on www.ecgulls.com on November 5, 2020 – and the Downtown Lynn Cultural District.
During her time at these internship sites, Caponigro has worked on various projects including illustrated campaigns, digital marketing, logo and poster creation, music videos, and style guides.
She also aided Female Fan Nation in its rebranding efforts by creating content for the company including new logos, color palettes, business checks, infographics, brand and style guide books, event logos, social media content, all while revamping the organization's website and conceptualizing and delivering on apparel mock-ups.
Furthermore, Capinogro created the current logo for Friends of Hathorne – which is a non-profit organization that advocates for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Capinogro's logo was created for use on t-shirts, which are sold during the organization's annual 5k run or walk event to raise money to support the non-profit.
Capinogro's work has won the University & College Designers Association (UCDA) Excellence Award and also been featured in the Communications Arts (CA) Design & Advertising Competition.
Her strong academic background and experiences have also enabled Caponigro to serve as a panelist on several Accepted Students Day Zooms for the School of Visual and Performing Arts where she was able to share her experiences, answer questions, and showcase her design work to prospective students.
Athletically, Capinogro earned CCC All-Conference Second Team honors in 2019 after scoring eight goals and dishing out three assists for 19 points in 20 games played.
Caponigro, who transferred to Endicott from Southern New Hampshire University, has also taken part in several community service projects such as Relay for Life, coaching youth soccer, and serving as the Interact Community service president as well as being a peer mentor.
