Personal Bests Lead the Way for Gulls

BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's cross country team recorded a number of personal best performances at the Tri State Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

Junior Ryan Darmody (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth) was a leader on the trails for the Gulls as he placed 51 with a personal best time of 31:34. Freshmen David Le was the second Gull to cross the line as he finished 61 with a personal record 32:12 for the 8000-meter course.

After suffering a four week long injury Tim Lyons (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) finished 63, trailing Le by only two seconds, as he crossed the line in 32:15. Steve Bouchard (Saratoga, NY/Saratoga High) and Ryan Slobin (Old Saybrook, CT/Old Saybrook) rounded out the scoring for Endicott as Bouchard finished 72-place with a time of 32:54, while Slobin was 78-place in 34:34.

Endicott finished tenth out of 11 teams but had a very strong performance as four of the five scorers recorded personal bests. The Gulls will next head to Bristol, RI for the Roger Williams Invitational were they will take on CCC competition.
