INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In their third trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Tournament, Endicott (17-11) will travel to New Jersey to face Rutgers-Newark (21-8) in First Round action scheduled for Saturday, April 18th. Endicott (NECC) and Rutgers-Newark (CVC) both earned automatic bids into NCAA postseason play via conference championship victories.

Rutgers-Newark and Baruch, who host GNAC automatic qualifiers Lasell, will serve as the host sites for the first round of competition. Top-seeded Stevens hosts the championship site from April 24th-26th inside Canavan Arena in Hoboken, New Jersey.

This will be the first meeting between Endicott and Rutgers-Newark as the Scarlet Raiders joined the NCAA Division III ranks in 2015 after playing 38 years as members of the Division I Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) since 1976. Rutgers-Newark was pre-ranked tied for third in the CVC but nearly submitted an undefeated record in league play this season with an 11-1 mark. Their only loss during the regular season to a CVC opponent was a five-set road defeat at the hands of #5 Juniata. The Scarlet Raiders would not face Juniata in the CVC Tournament, beating Thiel in the semifinals and then Stevenson in the finals both in straight sets to get the automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

In the most recent AVCA Division III Coaches Top-15 Poll, Rutgers-Newark slid into the #14 position.

Rutgers-Newark rosters three CVC All-Conference players, all from their junior class. Middle Cody Chidsey, setter Kevin McCandless, and libero Quocmy Nguyen all earned a spot on the CVC All-Conference while McCandless (MVP), sophomore outside Jack Fredricks, and junior opposite Travis Mintzer were named to the CVC All-Tournament Team.
