CCC TOURNAMENT: Men’s Tennis Downs Western New England, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Western New England University, 5-0, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament quarterfinals matchup on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) and Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.) led off the match with an 8-3 win at the No. 3 slot, while Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) followed with an 8-4 triumph at No. 1.

Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) and Keaton McCleary (Newtown, Conn.) then went on to complete the sweep with an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 position.

In singles, Pierce bumped the match score to 4-0 with a swift 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 and Kirkpatrick clinched the match moments later with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1.

"Today's win was a great start to the playoff run with solid tennis being played up and down the lineup," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "Hats off to Western New England on a great season and we are looking forward to refocusing next week for Nichols.
