Box Score

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Endicott College Gulls lost a difficult TCCC game on Tuesday against Western New England College, 2-0. The win drops the Gulls to 3-6-1 (3-2-1 TCCC) while the Golden Bears move into a tie for first place with New England College with a record of 7-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in the TCCC.

Current TCCC Rookie of the Week Nicholas Allman (Newburyport, Mass.) faced an assault on the net as the Golden Bears were able to get off 19 shots in the contest. Allman was able to make six saves as he went the distance for the Gulls. Freshman Christopher Serpa (Bristol, R.I.) led the Gulls on the offensive end with three shots but WNEC's attack would prove to be too much.

The Golden Bears were able to put up two goals in the first half and junior goalkeeper Dan Ruscigno (Wappingers, N.Y.) made sure the goals stuck on his way to his second shutout of the season. WNEC's Jason Sabia (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) got the scoring started with his seventh goal of the season off of a pass from Alex Dos Santos (Ludlow, Mass.) for the match's first goal. Sabia also had his hand in the second goal of the match when he assisted on Dan Hare's (Staatsburg, N.Y.) fourth goal of the season for a 2-0 lead. That would be all that WNEC would need as Ruscigno was able to make four saves on eight shots as he helped to keep the Golden Bears on top of the TCCC.

The Blue and Green return to their home pitch on Saturday when they face off against Salve Regina in another TCCC matchup at 12:00 p.m. WNEC looks to continue its hot streak in the TCCC when it hosts Gordon College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
