Box Score

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Endicott College men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker in overtime on Saturday to Colby-Sawyer, 2-1. The loss drops the Gulls to 1-4-1 (1-1-1 TCCC) while the win for the Chargers was the first of the year moving them to 1-6-1 (1-1-0 TCCC). The lone Endicott goal was scored by Shaun Martin (Salisbury, Mass.) in the loss.

The Chargers were able to get the scoring started as senior Ryan Oldfield (Raymond, N.H.) was able to score a goal unassisted with only a minute and a half remaining in the first half. The Gulls would be able to respond quickly however as Martin was able to knot the game at 1-1 a mere 3 minutes into the second half.

There would be no more goals in the period as the game would have to spill into overtime to determine a winner. The Chargers would only need 2:55 to win the game as freshman Derek Veilleux (Winslow, Maine) was able to take a cross from Colin Bellavance (Dudley, Mass.) and put the ball in the back of the net, ending the game.

Endicott goalie Nicholas Allman (Newburyport, Mass.) was able to make nine saves allowing only the two goals while Colby-Sawyer goalie Chris Feltes (Manchester, N.H.) made six saves, giving up one goal.

The Gulls return to conference action when they take on Eastern Nazarene in Quincy, Mass. on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Colby Sawyer travels to the University of New England on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
