CCC Athletes of the Week Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The office of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its Players of the Week on Monday, and following a first place finish at the CCC Championship Qualifier, Endicott swept the golf honors. Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) and Drew Benshoff (Concord, Mass.) received Golfer of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors respectively as they led the Gulls to a first place finish and with it, a berth in the CCC Championship to be held in the spring.
Teal earned Golfer of the Week recognition for the first time this season as he finished with medalist honors at the Qualifier. The junior posted a +1, 73 on the par 72 Dune Grass Country Club in Old Orchard Beach, Maine to narrowly edge out the competition by one stroke.
Benshoff claimed Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season, having claimed the title on September 9th as well. The freshman placed 6th at the CCC Fall Qualifier, posting the fourth lowest score of the day with a +7, 79.
After taking the weekend off following the Qualifier, the Gulls head right back to Maine on the 30th to compete in the UNE Invitational at the Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport.
