BEVERLY, Mass. - After a week in which he averaged 20.3 points per game and shot a blistering 61.5% (24-of-39) from the field, Endicott College junior guard Graham Whitelaw was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference and ECAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday and the ECAC offices on Tuesday. Whitelaw and the Gulls went 2-1 on the week, including a pair of wins over the weekend to capture the 2008 WCSU Holiday Tournament Championship.
Graham Whitelaw opened the week with career-high 30 point performance in a 65-56 setback to Colby College. Whitelaw was 11-of-18 from the field and shot a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point territory in the loss. The Endicott junior followed up his career performance with an 11 point, eight rebound effort in an 11 point win over Medgar Evers. Whitelaw then helped the Gulls win the Western Connecticut State Holiday Tournament with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting in a 60-58 buzzer-beating victory over the host Colonials. For the week, Whitelaw averaged 20.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game and was Endicott's leading scorer in all three games played last week.
Endicott (4-2, 0-0 TCCC) returns to action on Thursday, December 4th as the Gulls will host cross-town rival Gordon College in their annual non-conference match-up. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
