Women’s Cross Country Strengthens Regional Resume At Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's cross country team placed fourth overall out of 26 teams at the Suffolk Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.

Colby and Bowdoin both finished atop the table with 62 points each in the meet, but the Mules' sixth place runner checked in at 29th overall – just one spot ahead of the Polar Bears' top-6 runner to win the tiebreaker.

Wellesley (114), Endicott (119), and Keene State (171) followed to round out the top-5.

The Gulls competed against five regionally ranked opponents today including No. 5 Wellesley, No. 7 Suffolk (18th overall, rested top-7), No. 8 Bowdoin, No. 9 Colby, and No. 10 Keene State.

Individually, Cailin Lawlor (Wrentham, Mass.) finished fourth overall with a personal best time of 23:10.8 on the 6-kilometer course.

Sofia Moukaddem (Weston, Mass.) clocked a time of 23:52.6 for 18th place, while Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.), Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.), and Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) made up the remainder of Endicott's top-5 (24th, 24:00.5 | 38th, 24:20.3, PR | 46th, 24:49.3).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The top-5 averaged a time of 24:02 (spread 1:38).
  • Allie DeVoe (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Sophia Dill (Uxbridge, Mass.) both PR-ed (72nd, 25:31.3 | 85th, 26:00.2).
  • The 2023 edition of the Suffolk Invitational was the largest to date as 620 athletes from 32 schools competed in today's meet, combined between the men's and women's sides.

Endicott competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday, October 28 at Gordon College.
