BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott freshman harrier Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office yesterday.
Last week, Catalano finished third overall and first for Endicott in her collegiate debut in the "Battle of the North Shore" meet against host Gordon and Roger Williams.
Catalano ran a time of 19:15.1 on the 5-kilometer course, finishing behind two juniors from Gordon.
Her time also was 38-seconds faster than the next fastest freshman/first-year on the course and represented the fastest women's cross country 5k time in program history (based upon available data).
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott competes in the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon, on Saturday, September 16 at 11:30 AM.
