HOUSTON, Texas — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated No. 5 Cortland, 53-20, in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Small College Third Place match on Sunday evening at AVEVA Stadium.

Katelyn Gemmell (Andover, Mass.) highlighted the Gulls with three tries in the victory.

For her efforts this weekend, Gemmell earned the NCR Heart and Soul award.

The Gulls also saw Laila Baer (Pasadena, Calif.) notch two tries, while Bailey Tymeson (Westfield, Mass.), Peyton Gilson (Newport, Vt.), Chloe Marconi (North Andover, Mass.), and Colleen Mitchell (Glastonbury, Conn.) find the try zone once.

Caitlin Padeck (Easthampton, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with four conversions.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (9-1) will return to action later this spring for 7s season.
