No. 1 Women’s Rugby Tops D2 Perennial Power Roger Williams, 20-15

BRISTOL, R.I. – The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated Roger Williams, 20-15, in non-conference action on Saturday evening at Bayside Field.

Roger Williams entered today's matchup ranked No. 3 overall in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Division II Top-20 Coaches Poll.

Last season, the Hawks captured the NCR 7s Division II National Championship and finished third overall in the NCR 15s Division II National Championship.

Endicott is currently ranked No. 1 overall in the NCR Small College Top-20 Coaches Poll.

As for the match, Tess Merrill (Greenwich, N.Y.) paced the offense with two tries.

Caitlin Kane (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Bailey Tymeson (Westfield, Mass.) also found the try zone in the victory.

There were no conversions attempted in today's match as Bayside Field does not have uprights.

Katherine Waden (Pelham, N.H.) earned Rookie of the Match accolades for her defensive efforts.
