Courtney Blake Tabbed As Corvias ECAC Division III New England Pitcher of the Week

CORVIAS ECAC SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK ENDING MARCH 27

BEVERLY, Mass. - Senior pitcher Courtney Blake (East Islip, N.Y.) has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as the Corvias ECAC Division III New England Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2016 as announced this week by the conference office.

Blake, a first-time recipient of an ECAC accolade, earned her first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Pitcher of the Week honor this season and third in her career as she picked up two road wins over Gordon (3-0, 7-5) on March 23rd.

In game one, she tossed her first career no-hitter and allowed just two walks and recorded nine punchouts for her sixth complete-game in 2016.

Blake retired the side in order on five separate occasions throughout the game (1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th) and was just one strikeout shy of her career high.

In game two, she came on to pitch 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief and gave up just two hits in the extra-inning victory for the Gulls.

Blake is 4-3 on the season in the circle with eight appearances and six starts.

Endicott is back in action on Thursday, March 31 in the Gulls' home opener against Thomas (Me.) in a 3:00 p.m./5:00 p.m. twin bill.
