Courtney Blake Earns CCC Pitcher of the Week Honors

CCC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK 3/28/16

BEVERLY, Mass. - Senior pitcher Courtney Blake (East Islip, N.Y.) has been named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Pitcher of the Week for her performance for the week of March 21-March 27, 2016 as announced today by the conference office.

Blake, a two-time CCC Pitcher of the Week recipient in 2015, earned her first honor of the season as she picked up two road wins this week over Gordon (3-0, 7-5).

In game one, she tossed her first career no-hitter and allowed just two walks and nine punchouts for her sixth complete-game in 2016.

Blake retired the side in order on five separate occasions throughout the game (1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th) and was just one strikeout shy of her career high.

In game two, she came on to pitch 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief and gave up just two hits in the extra-inning victory for the Gulls.

Blake is 4-3 on the season in the circle with eight appearances and six starts.

Endicott's home opener is set for Thursday, March 31 when Thomas (Me.) comes to town for a non-conference doubleheader (3:00/5:00 p.m.).
