Dolph and Eherts Sweep Conference Awards; Named CCC Player and Rookie of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Following a perfect 3-0 week that saw the Gulls claim three conference wins and defeat two playoff-bound teams to lock up the #3 seed in the upcoming CCC Men's Tennis Tournament, Endicott's Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) and Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.) were named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the week, respectively.  Endicott, now 10-6 on the season, opens up postseason play Tuesday as the Gulls play host to #6 Western New England in the CCC Quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m.

For both players, the weekly honors were the first of the season.  Dolph was named Player of the Week following a week in which he 5-1 overall.  In singles play, Dolph was a perfect 3-0, taking victories against Eastern Nazarene and Gordon at #3 singles while defeating his Salve Regina counterpart at #2 singles.  In doubles play, Dolph teamed with freshman Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) to post a 2-1 record at #1 doubles as the duo claimed wins over Eastern Nazarene and Salve Regina before narrowly falling to Gordon.  For the season, Dolph is now 11-4 in singles play and 11-5 in doubles play.

For Eherts, the freshman received his first Rookie of the Week nod following a personal 3-0 week in which he posted a 2-0 record at #6 singles and teamed with Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) to claim a victory at #3 doubles against Salve Regina.  Of his 2-0 week in singles play, Eherts was especially clutch against Eastern Nazarene as his straight set 6-4, 6-1 victory clinched the 5-4 team win over the Lions, a team that earned the fifth seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament.

Endicott, now 10-6 on the season, opens up postseason play Tuesday as the Gulls play host to #6 Western New England in the CCC Quarterfinals at 3:30 p.m.
