Kirkpatrick Garners ECAC Rookie of the Week Honors

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) released their weekly men's tennis players of the week last night and freshman Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) was honored as Rookie of the Week. Kirkpatrick helped give the Gulls a 2-1 week while they competed at the Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C. over spring break. Endicott sits at 3-3 overall on the season as they look ahead to today where they battle with North Shore rival Salem State at 3:00 p.m.

Kirkpatrick spend the entire week in the #1 slot in both singles and doubles play claiming all victories in his three appearances while not dropping a single set. In the tournament opener the rookie took down Thomas counterpart, senior Eric Morin (Lewiston, Maine) 6-1, 6-2 while working with junior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) to take an 8-3 victory. The following day with FDU-Florham Kirkpatrick went a perfect 6-0, 6-0 in singles play while battling with Dolph to take the 8-3 triumph in doubles. In the final day in the tough 5-4 loss to Ramapo the freshman took his #1 opponent 6-3, 6-1 while again taking a 8-3 doubles victory with Dolph.
