BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis suffered a 7-2 loss at home to non-conference foe Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday afternoon in their third of four fall schedule matches. The Chargers took two out of three doubles matches to take an early 2-1 advantage and proceeded to win five of six singles matches en route to the lopsided win.

Endicott (1-2) will wrap up their first semester schedule with a road test at NEWMAC rival Clark on Wednesday, October 15th at 4:00 pm. In last season's match against the Cougars, Endicott fell 7-2 at home.

On Tuesday against Colby-Sawyer, Gulls junior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) had his part in both of Endicott's points by winning the #1 doubles match with freshman teammate Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) over the Chargers duo of Nathan Taschereau (Goffstown, N.H.) and Rico Bailey (Mattapan, Mass.) 8-3. The doubles win tied the match after Colby-Sawyer #2 partners Myles Utell (Bedford, N.H.) and Andrew Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.) took their match by a score of 8-0. The Chargers would head into singles play with a 2-1 advantage as seniors Sergio Spassof (Pallini, Greece) and Clay Allen (Massena, N.Y.) battled Gulls freshmen Matthew Doherty (Plymouth, Mass.) and Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.) to an 8-4 victory.

In singles action, Colby-Sawyer took each of the first five matches to end with Peloquin winning 6-1, 6-2, Taschereau taking top flight 6-1, 6-3, Spassof claiming a 6-1, 6-0 straight-set win at #5 singles, Utell winning 6-0, 6-2 at #2 singles, and freshman Ryan Broderick (Londonderry, N.H.) earning a victory at the #6 position 6-3, 6-2.

Endicott's lone singles point would be won by Dolph who came back from a 6-4 first set loss to take set two 6-0 and then the third-set, pro-set to 10 by a score of 10-6.
