CCC Athletes of the Week (Week Ending April 5, 2015)
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has released their weekly men's tennis awards and freshman Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) has been named the CCC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. The Gulls went 1-0 last week improving to 5-4 (1-1 CCC) after claiming a 6-0 victory over Wentworth in their spring home opener. Endicott will take the court next on Wednesday, April 8th as they travel to CCC foe Western New England for a 3:30 p.m. start.
Last week Kirkpatrick posted a strong game in both the #1 singles and doubles slot against the Leopards. In doubles play the freshman paired up with junior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) and took their counterparts in an 8-4 win. In singles play the rookie boasted an impressive 6-1, 6-2 triumph in the #1 slot to help secure the team victory. Kirkpatrick is now 6-3 on the season in both the #1 singles and doubles position this season.
