SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their weekly awards, and freshman Sean McAndrews posted his third Rookie of the Week nod for his efforts in the Gulls 2-0 week. McAndrews helped lead the Gulls to an 8-1 victory over Salve Regina and a 5-1 triumph over Wentworth in the CCC Quarterfinals.
McAndrews went a perfect 4-4 in his matches last week. In the regular season finale the freshman posted a 6-4, 6-1 decision over his opponent in the #4 slot while freshman duo, McAndrews and partner David Copeland (Longmeadow, Mass.) took an 8-2 victory in the #3 doubles spot.
In the Quarterfinal round of the tournament, (#5) McAndrews posted the first win in singles play (6-1, 6-1) that led into three straight wins for the Blue and Green to rally to victory. In doubles play with partner Michael Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) the pair earned a victory 8-1 in the #2 slot.
Endicott will take the court next on Wednesday, April 30th at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to Roger Williams for the programs fourth straight semifinal appearance.
