Evan Ross Named ECAC New England Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Endicott senior Evan Ross (Worcester, Mass.) became the first Gulls men's tennis player in program history to garner Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Week honors as he went a perfect 4-0 in both singles and doubles competition against conference opponents.

Ross was 2-0 at both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles flights as Endicott earned two important CCC wins over Eastern Nazarene (5-4) and Western New England (6-3). The Gulls remain unbeaten in CCC matches at 4-0 with a 6-5 overall record thanks to Ross' efforts this past week.

In their first match of the week against Eastern Nazarene, Ross paired up with sophomore Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) to win 8-4 in doubles play before taking down his Lions singles opponent in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Two days later, Ross and Dolph grinded out an 8-6 victory at the top doubles position against Western New England with Ross holding off his Golden Bears opponent 6-4, 6-2 in singles play.

Ross and the Endicott men's tennis team are back in action this weekend at home with their two most important matches of the conference schedule starting with Friday's showdown with Roger Williams (9-4, 5-1) at 3:00 pm before Saturday's 12:00 pm start with Nichols (15-1, 5-0).
