Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the second consecutive game Endicott College’s \#Colin Doody\# (Wethersfield, Conn.) netted a pair of goals as Doody and the Gulls defeated UMaine-Farmington, 4-1, on Tuesday night in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls (2-3, 1-0 TCCC) received goals from Doody, \#Bryan Lee\# (Rockport, Mass.) and \#Ryan Coates\# (Wethersfield, Conn.) in handing the Beavers (3-1) their first loss of the year.

The first half was an offensive struggle as neither team was able to produce much offense through the first 30 minutes. Doody finally broke through at the 34:44 mark of the period on an 18-yard strike off a pass from \#Brian Connery\# (Boxford, Mass.). Three-minutes later, the Gulls would earn a corner-kick and Connery would find a streaking Bryan Lee for a header to the far post, giving the Gulls the 2-0 advantage before the half.

Out of the break, Farmington would finally get on the board as a penalty inside the box would result in a Nile Rozie (Windsor, Conn.) penalty kick and score leaving the Endicott lead at 2-1. Later in the frame, a handball inside the Farmington box would result in a PK for the Gulls, resulting in Doody’s second tally of the game. Doody would return the favor a minute later as he made a short pass back to \#Ryan Coates\# who blasted a shot past the Beavers’ netminder to seal the Gulls second straight win in a row.

Endicott’s \#Daniel Higgins\# (Kingstown, R.I.) picked up his second win of the season, making one save in 72 minutes of action while \#Dave Whelan\# (Newington, Conn.) finished out the final 18-minutes of the game for the Gulls in his first action of the year. Paul Dupre (Rehoboth, Mass.) suffered his first setback of the year for Farmington while backup Erik Corcoran (Gorham, N.H.) picked up two saves in relief.

The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday when they host TCCC preseason favorite Western New England College in a conference matchup at 6:30 p.m. The Beavers look to rebound from their first loss of the season by traveling to Maine Maritime for a 5:00 p.m. matchup on Saturday also.
