SALEM, Mass. - The Endicott College men’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Salem State Vikings on Saturday afternoon in Salem, Mass. The Vikings (1-0) have now beaten the Gulls (0-2) for the fifth consecutive meeting as Raphael Santos (Brazil) and Andrew Angus (Boston, Mass.) both scored to give Salem State the victory. Endicott’s \#Bryan Lee\# (Rockport, Mass.) recorded the lone tally for the Gulls.

Angus got the scoring started for the Vikings in the first period as he took a feed from Matt Figuerido (Wilmington, Mass.) and shot it past the Endicott keeper less than three minutes into the contest. Salem State would add one more in the frame off the foot of Santos who scored at the 16:53 mark in the first.

Endicott would have its best scoring opportunity 10 minutes into the second stanza as \#Shawn Tucker\# (Hamilton, Mass.) was stopped point blank by Salem State keeper Luis Marques (Fall River, Mass.). Endicott finally broke through in the final five minutes as \#Bryan Lee\# scored to make it a one-goal deficit. However, it would not be enough as the Vikings kept the Gulls off the board in the final four minutes to secure their first victory of the season.
