Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College Gulls were defeated 3-1 by Salve Regina in TCCC action on Saturday afternoon at Endicott Stadium on the campus of Endicott. The loss drops the Gulls to 3-7-1 (3-3-1 TCCC) while the Seahawks' win marks their seventh straight victory improving them to a record of 7-4-1 (5-1 TCCC).

The Seahawks were able to put up three goals in the first half to create a heavy deficit for the Gulls at the half. Salve Regina's Max Starace (Fort Lee, N.J.) was able to blast a header into the net off of a corner kick from Alex Clark (Ridgefield, Conn.). Clark would not be done in the first half as he would score nearly twenty minutes later on a breakaway pass from Sean McAllister (North Arlington, N.J.) for a 2-0 lead in the contest. With nearly four minutes remaining in the half, freshman Tony Lania (Concord, Mass.) was able to take a through ball from fellow freshman Ian Jengtgen (Columbus, Ohio) to make the game 3-0.

The second half would be a change of pace for both teams as Endicott tried to get back into the game. Junior Shaun Martin (Salisbury, Mass.) would be able to score with nearly ten minutes remaining off of a pass from DJ Picariello (Boxford, Mass.). The Seahawk defense would prove to be too much as that would be as close as the Gulls would get as time expired with the score being 3-1.

Current TCCC Rookie of the Week Nicholas Allman (Newburyport, Mass.) took the loss for the Gulls as he faced 12 shots and was able to make four saves. His counterpart, Kurt Ginthwain (Tolland, Conn.) was able to pick up the victory as he only allowed the one Endicott goal on 10 shots.

The Blue and Green look to get back on the winning side of things when they travel to conference rival Gordon College on Wednesday for a TCCC matchup at 3:00 p.m. Salve Regina will travel to the campus of Roger Williams on Wednesday as well for a conference game scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
