Gulls slotted ninth in TCCC Preseason Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott College men's soccer team will enter the 2008 season as the ninth ranked team in the conference, this according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll released by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Wednesday morning. Endicott finished the 2007 season 2-11-3 overall (2-8-2 TCCC).

Western New England College, defending champions of The Commonwealth Coast Conference, has been selected as the preseason favorite, receiving 12 of the 14 first-place votes in the poll. Roger Williams University was selected second while receiving the remaining two first-place votes. Wentworth Institute of Technology and Gordon College were picked to finish third and fourth, respectively.

With the addition of Regis College, all 14 TCCC member institutions will be competing for the men's soccer championship for the first time in 2008. Teams received 14 points for every first place vote received, 13 points for second place votes, 12 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are shown in parentheses.

The Gulls are busy preparing for their season-opener on Saturday, August 30th, as they head to Waltham, Mass. to meet Brandeis University. Last season, the Gulls and the Judges battled to a 1-1 draw.
