BEVERLY, Mass. - The Massachusetts Institute of Technology scored three second half goals to break away from a 1-1 halftime tie, downing Endicott College, 4-1, on Tuesday night in men's soccer action in Beverly, Mass. With the win, the Engineers move to 2-0 while the Gulls slip to 0-2.

MIT's Christian Therkelsen (Nesbur, Norway) broke a scoreless game at the 16:18 mark as he took a nifty through feed from Zachary Kabelac (Potomac, Md.) and beat freshman `keeper Nicholas Allman (Newburyport, Mass.) in a 1-on-1 situation, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Endicott was quick to respond as Benjamin Graves (Peterborough, N.H.) capitalized on a crossing pass from TJ Sapienza (Milford, N.H.) just 14-seconds later to knot the game at 1-all.

The squads would enter the intermission gridlocked at one, as MIT held a slight, 9-7, advantage in shots. Endicott's Allman made three saves in the first 45:00 while his counterpart Tom Caldwell (East Berlin, Pa.) had one save in the first frame.

It was all Engineers in the second as the visitors tallied three-straight unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Peter Bojo (Vienna, Va.) corralled a Zachary Kabelac shot off the post and buried a quick strike on the goalmouth for what proved to be the game-winner in the 51st minute.

David Nole (Torrington, Conn.) and Tristan Kooistra (Campobello, S.C.) added insurance goals at 81:22 and 88:34, as each found the back of the net off headers from inside the box. Neil Zimmerman (Dallas, Texas) and Kevin Chou (Fremont, Calif.) assisted on the tallies.

The loss marks the second in a row for Endicott, as the Gulls fall to 0-2. The Blue and Green return to action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome North Shore foe Salem State College onto campus. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Beverly. MIT looks to stay unbeaten (2-0) on Saturday as well, as they meet Colorado College for a 4:00 p.m. tilt.
