Five Gulls score for first win of the season

WESTON, Mass. - The Endicott College Gulls were able to earn their first win of the season as the Gulls took down the Regis College Pride on Saturday 5-0. The win moves the Gulls to 1-3 (1-0 TCCC) and drops the Pride to 0-4 (0-1 TCCC). Five different players were able to score to win the game while freshman net-minder Nicholas Allman (Newburyport, Mass.) was able to earn the shut-out.

The first goal of the contest was scored by freshman Gregory Capece (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) with 28:25 left in the first half. A late penalty in the box near the end of the first half allowed a penalty shot for the Gulls which Danny Vagnini (Farmington, Conn,) was able to put away for a 2-0 lead going into the half.

After the break, the Gulls were able to keep up their strong attack and put up three more goals in the match. Christopher Serpa (Bristol, R.I.), Shaun Martin (Salisbury, Mass.), and Nick Goldman (South Windsor, Conn,) would all be able to get shots past the Regis goalie Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.). Senior Benjamin Graves (Peterborough, N.H.), TJ Sapienza (Milford, N.H.), and Julio Lopez (Laromama, Dominican Republic) were all able to tally assists in the game.

Gull net-minder Nicholas Allman earned his first shut-out of the season with help from the Gull defense. Allman did not face a shot all day as he was able to get the win. Regis goalie Andrew LaMacchia faced 31 shots and was able to make 23 saves.

The Blue and Green look to continue their conference schedule when Roger Williams comes to Beverly, Massachusetts for a showdown on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Regis College continues to look for its first win of the season when it hosts Elms on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
