Field Hockey Team and 15 Gulls Recognized by the NFHCA for Academic Awards

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released their annual Division III National Academic Squad. 15 members of the field hockey team along with the team as a whole have been honored for their hard work in the classroom.

This year marks the seventh consecutive season the Gulls earned the NFHCA team academic award, announced yesterday, presented to teams who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2013 semester. This flock of Gulls ended the fall semester with a cumulative team GPA of 3.29.

In addition to the 15 members recognized senior tri-captain Stacie Teevens (Westborough, Mass.) was honored for earning a spot on the National Academic Squad for all four years of her collegiate career.

Joining Teevens were Julianne Ayers (Cape Elizabeth, Maine), Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.), Danielle DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.), Elizabeth Farr (Rindge, N.H.), Mackenzie Hurst (Gilford, N.H.), Elizabeth LeClair (Wilton, Maine), Kristen O'Brien (New Boston, N.H.), Emily O'Halloran (Cheshire, Conn.), Emily Paladino (North Reading, Mass.), Taylor Pryzbylski (South Windsor, Conn.), Lizetta Solarik (Carmel, N.Y.), Siena Tansey (West Springfield, Mass.), Taylor Tyksinski (Slingerlands, N.Y.), and Kathryn Walker (Middlebury, Conn.).

Farr, Hurst, LeClair and Solarik are honored for their third consecutive appearance while Bresnahan, O'Brien, Pryzbylski and Walker have been honored for the second straight year.
