Solarik and Sawchuck Tab Weekly Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior goalkeeper Lizetta Solarik (Carmel, N.Y.) and junior Emily Sawchuck (Cumberland, Maine) earned weekly honors with the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Solarik claimed her third Defensive Player of the Week nod while Sawchuck is claiming her second Offensive Player of the Week honor. The Gulls went 1-1 this past week beating Salve Regina 4-2 and losing to Gordon 3-2 OT.

Solarik played in all 146 minutes for the Gulls this past week coming out with 40 total saves. In the contest against the Fighting Scots team that leads the conference in goals scored, Solarik tallied 11 saves in the overtime loss. Against the Seahawks Solarik was on her game as she recorded a program high 29 saves in the 4-2 victory. Following the contest Solarik now stands in the top 10 of Division III and in the top 12 all three divisions for saves in a single game this season.

On the offensive end Sawchuck played one of her best weeks yet as she recorded three goals and two assists between the two contests. Against the Fighting Scots she tallied the only two goals for the Blue and Green in the tough overtime loss. She handled the Seahawks as she had a stick in three of the four goals for Endicott. In the 4-2 victory she earned the game winning goal and two assists.

Endicott will look ahead to Wednesday, October 30th as they hit the road the face the University of New England at 6:00 p.m.
