BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott field hockey team hosted a community youth day this past weekend following their victory over Salve Regina. Coach Cipolla and the rest of the team had a group of 30 young field hockey players come in to learn and interact with the team.

The clinic consisted of drills that the squad set up and ran which allowed the kids to ask questions and learn from the college athletes. Coach Cipolla said "It was nice to be able to get a good representation of the North Shore as we had kids from many different communities, and it was also awesome to have our team come together to do their part to grow the game."

Senior co-captain Stacie Teevens really enjoyed the experience saying, "Having the opportunity to participate in a youth day was very rewarding. They came to support us at our game so it was nice that we were able to give back and do the clinic with them. It's always great to see young girls getting involved with field hockey so early and to see them having fun with it. We all had a great time and hopefully they did too!"

Coach Cipolla said the biggest take away was that "Our players really enjoyed with the kids, and you could tell the kids were really excited to be able to make connections with the college team and get to engage with them."

The Youth Day marked the first for the field hockey program and there will be more to come. In addition to the Youth Day the field hockey team also celebrated Pink Day in their Play for a Cure game where they raised money for the cause.
