BEVERLY, Mass. — No. 17/17 nationally ranked Endicott defeated the University of New England (UNE), 41-14 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

As for the game, the Gulls soared out to an early 27-0 lead at halftime and carried that momentum for the rest of the contest.

Marengi shined on the offensive side of the ball with four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) and a game-best 68 yards on the ground. 

Ryan Freiberger (Marblehead Mass.), Adam Goodfellow (Wayland, Mass.), Markys Bridgewater (Lawrence, Mass.), Caggianelli, and Aylward, all scored in the victory.

Highlighting the Gulls' scoring performances were Aylward (58-yard receiving, 15th-career TD, 7-0), Caggianelli (29-yard run, 22nd-career TD, 14-0), and Margengi (3-yard run, 13-career rushing TD, 41-0).

Defensively, the Blue and Green held the Nor'Easters to its second-least amount of passing yards this fall (118). The Gulls had three sacks on the afternoon coming from Brian Daly (Franklin Square, N.Y.), Morris, and Kandic, respectively. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• The Gulls clinched the regular-season title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after their win against Curry last Saturday. The trophy was presented to the team this afternoon following the triumph by the conference office.
• Endicott captured its fifth conference championship in program history (2010, 2013 - NEFC | 2021, 2022, 2023 - CCC).
• Matthew Whelan (Hopewell Junction, N.J.) recorded his first interception.
• Caggianelli is second all-time in rushing touchdowns (22) behind Mike Lane '11 (32) after today's score.
• The Blue and Green are 5-0 all-time against the Nor'Easters.
• Hector Johnson (Worcester, Mass.) and Liccciardi generated a team-high seven total tackles.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 17/17 Endicott (9-1, 5-0 CCC) will wait to hear its name called during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Sunday, November 12 at 5 PM on NCAA.com. UNE finished its season with a 6-3 overall record and 2-3 in CCC play.
