BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott football student-athletes Markys Bridgewater (Lawrence, Mass.) and Nico Mangano (Georgetown, Mass.) have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office yesterday.
Bridgewater was named the CCC Offensive Rookie of the Week, while Mangano garnered CCC Defensive Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively.
Bridgewater produced a career day to lead the Gulls in a 66-0 win over Hilbert, rushing for 71 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries (8.9 average). He set career highs for rushing attempts, yards, longest rush (21), rushing average, and rushing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mangano recorded an assisted tackle and blocked his first career field goal (28 yards). The field goal block stymied Hilbert from cutting into its 10-0 deficit at the time to begin the second quarter.
He has played in the last two games for the Gulls, both wins, as Endicott stands at 4-1
This is the first career CCC weekly honor for both student-athletes.
