Lance Greene ’13 M’17 Steps Down To Take Position At Tufts University

BEVERLY, Mass. – After making an indelible impact across multiple areas of Endicott College's campus over the last 11 years, Lance Greene '13 M'17 (Dorchester, Mass.) has stepped down from his current role as club sports coordinator to take over as the assistant director of recreation and club sports at Tufts University.

In his new role, Greene will oversee the university's recreational offerings, club sports, intramurals, physical education classes, and mini-courses. Tufts currently enrolls close to 12,000 students and offers a minimum of 28 club sports to its student body along with robust programming in all of the previously mentioned areas.

"It has been an honor to work with and learn from Lance during his time here at Endicott. He inspired and advanced so many during his time as a student-athlete in and out of the classroom, and that continued during his coaching and administrative roles. His passion and leadership were always unwavering for the Endicott Blue and Green, and we know that this won't change even with Lance moving on to the next chapter of his journey," said Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics Dr. Brian A. Wylie.

Greene joins the Jumbos after a storied career at Endicott which includes his time as an academic and athletic standout as a member of the men's basketball program (2010-13), being a resident director from 2015-17, serving as an assistant men's basketball coach from 2015-21, and his most recent role as club sports coordinator (2017-21).

Under Greene's watch as club sports coordinator, the crew, men's and women's rugby, and roller hockey programs have all flourished, amassing a combined 202-55-3-2 record.

Among the many highlights, the roller hockey program won the school's first-ever club national championship in 2019, while the men's and women's rugby programs combined to claim two conference championships, two regional titles, and multiple top-10 finishes at nationals. The crew program also has fared well at multiple New England Championships and the Head of the Fish regatta.

Additionally, the men's rugby team earned Endicott's first-ever No. 1 national ranking in 2018-19, while women's rugby claimed a No. 3 national ranking during their 2019-20 campaign which culminated in the Gulls finishing as the national runner-up at the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 15s National Championship.

Greene earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Endicott in 2013. Upon graduation, Greene also went on to earn his MBA from Springfield in 2014 and his Master of Education in Athletic Administration from Endicott in 2017.
