Endicott College Athletics Return To Play Procedures - Fall 2020 (Updated as of 9/24/2020, 9 AM)

BEVERLY, Mass. — In accordance with Massachusetts guidelines and the NCAA Core Principles of Resocialization of Collegiate Sport, the Endicott College Department of Athletics and Recreation has developed a six-phase progression plan for coaches and student-athletes to follow during participation. This means that student-athletes participating in low, medium, or high contact risk sports will each have opportunities for participation, in accordance with NCAA resocialization guidelines.

Teams have unique start dates for strength & conditioning training and each week-long progression. The anticipated start dates for each progression respective to each sport are based on continued low-risk conditions. If trends begin to move in the direction of increased positive cases within the Endicott Community, progressions may be lengthened, halted, or regressed.

Under the supervision of a coach or department official, and during sanctioned practices or training sessions, groups of student-athletes and coaches may be seen working in small groups or pods (no larger than 10 individuals) with multiple pods being appropriately distanced on outdoor fields (per MA guidelines no more than 50 individuals). Some student-athletes may not be wearing a mask.

While mask-wearing may be temporarily suspended under such sanctioned, exertional conditions, student-athletes are to follow campus protocol in all other situations.

If you have questions, contact Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics Dr. Brian Wylie at (978) 232-2440 or bwylie@endicott.edu.
