Women's Cross Country finishes in 2nd place

Biddeford, ME -- The women's cross country team competed in the UNE Invitational on Saturday, September 13th. Beating nine other teams, Endicott finished in an impressive 2nd place. Placing five runners in the top twenty, they ensured themselves a place near the top. Senior captain, Lauren Alverson paved the way when she finished in 5th place overall by completing the 5 kiolmeter course in 20:45, and as a result, she was awarded a medal for finishing in the top seven. Not far behind her teammate, sophomore Erica Spencer finished 10th overall with a time of 21:42.

Head coach Sean Dunleavy commented, "Our second place finish as a team would not have been possible if it were not for the excellent pack formed by freshmen, Kathleen Lascelles, Katie Fitch, junior Sarah Clarke and senior captain Amber-Lyn Douglas." They finished 16th, 18th, 19th and 25th respectively. Jen Abramovitz who is coming off of major knee surgey less than a year ago finish 27th over all with a time of 23:36.

The next competition date is set for Saturday, September 27th when they compete in the Pop Cromwell Invitational at Gordon College at 12:00.
