Crough, Cuddy and Whall Earn a Spot on All-CCC Teams

2013-14 Women's Basketball All-CCC Teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) named the women's basketball All-CCC teams for the 2013-14 season announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye this morning. The Gulls saw three members earn a spot on All-CCC teams as the Blue and Green finished the regular season at 19-6, (14-4 CCC) while taking the #3 seed entering the CCC Tournament.

Senior co-captain Samantha Crough (Cohasset, Mass.) earned a spot on the All-CCC First Team for the first time in her career after earning a place on the Second Team her sophomore and junior seasons. Crough has been a vital part of this squad throughout her entire career. This season the senior earned a career milestone 1,000 points while surpassing the program record in field goals made (526) to leave her at #7 all time in points with 1200.  Ending the regular season, she is averaging 14.6 points per game while shooting an impressive 45.8% from the field.

Following behind Crough is junior Kayleen Whall (Foxboro, Mass.) and sophomore Kelsey Cuddy (Madison, Conn.) who each earned a spot on the All-CCC Third Team as forwards. Both Cuddy and Whall have played a special role during this season as key contributors both offensively and defensively.

Cuddy comes in right behind Crough in points per game with 11.6, scoring 291 points on the season while she is one of the best three-point shooters for the Gulls. The forward is also stealthy on the defensive end as she is third in the conference in steals (67) and blocks (46) while posting 164 total rebounds.

Whall plays a contributing factor coming in off the bench scoring 277 points this season. Her performance on the offensive end has helped the Blue and Green in some key victories the most important being over Roger Williams as she scored the tying points in the final seconds to send the game into overtime. She finished the regular season second on the team in rebounds with 166, while 122 of them were on the defensive end.

Endicott will look to these three Gulls along with their teammates as they host Western New England this evening at 7:00 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the CCC tournament.
