Gulls Conclude Season at NCAA Regionals

Nov. 17, 2004

The men's cross-country season came to a chilly conclusion at the NCAA New England Regional Meet at Twin Brooks Recreation Area in Cumberland, Maine on Saturday. The men's squad posted some great individual performances despite the wind and bitter cold.

The Gulls were once again led by the efforts of Scott Baldelli, who finished 157th out of an extremely competitive field of 280 finishers. Baldelli posted a time of 29:48 over the hilly 8 kilometer course.

Seniors Ben Quirk and Bill Shemansky

It was a special race for senior captain's Ben Quirk and Bill Shemansky who finished their collegiate careers for the Gulls. Quirk ran one of his best races of the season finishing with a time of 31:18 (2nd for Endicott) and Shemansky also ended on a strong note crossing the line in 32:27.

Jon Harkins ran a superb race for the Gulls. Harkins finished just in front of Shemansky with a personal best time of 32:25, which was an improvement of almost 2 minutes. Ryan Darmody finished out the scoring for the Gulls finishing the course in 33:31.
