Box Score

NASHUA, N.H. - Endicott College used game scores of 30-19, 30-20, and 30-24 to power its way past Daniel Webster College, 3-0, in an NECVA sweep on Friday evening at the Mario Vagge Gymnasium in Nashua, N.H. The win improves Endicott to 7-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference action.

A.J. Witkofsky (Scotia, N.Y.) led the Gulls with a match high 15 kills in the sweep. John Emery (Westford, Mass.) added 12 and Jeremy Scholsser (Emmaus, Penn.) dished out 44 assists and added four digs and two solo blocks.

Ian Catenzaro (Londonderry, N.H.) and Chris Shannon (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) led the Eagles (2-2, 2-2 NECVA) with 9 kills each while Nick Emmons (Madison, Conn.) added three kills and Eric Smith (Clay, N.Y.) racked up 24 assists.

Endicott trailed just once (1-0) in the opening set, as Witkofsky set the tone early with a kill, block and kill in succession for an early 8-4 lead. Twice the Eagles closed to within two, but an Endicott 5-0 run late in the set built a 23-17 lead and a Brent Feldman (West palm Beach, Fla.) kill would close it out, 30-19.

Endicott never trailed in the second, and after a Catenzaro kill cut the Eagles deficit to 17-12, Endicott answered with an 8-0 run backed by two Emery kills on the way to the 30-20 win.

In the third, the Eagles came alive as Shannon had two kills while Sean Rogers (Union, N.J.) added two blocks and an ace to help open up a 13-6 lead. A Catenzaro kill and a Gull error made it 15-8, but Endicott answered with an 8-1 run keyed by a big Witkofsky strike to pull even at 16.

A Shannon kill and a block and kill from Rogers regained a 19-17 lead, but three quick errors and two strikes from Witkofsky sparked a 6-1 spurt and the Gulls pulled away down the stretch.

The Eagles head out on the road for their next six matches beginning with a visit to MIT Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Endicott visits Wentworth on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
