  • Billings, Wyman ’13 Link Up At 89th New England Amateur Golf Championship

    BEVERLY, Mass. – Last week, Endicott rising senior Christopher Billings (Portland, Maine) served as Jack Wyman’s ’13 (South Freeport, Maine) caddy at 89th New England Amateur Golf Championship. Wyman went on to finish tied for sixth overall at the event, only four shots back of the winner, but also claimed the Maine State Golf Association’s (MSGA) Player of the Year award with his solid finish in the tournament. However, Billings and Wyman’s story goes well beyond last weekend’s tournament.

    BEVERLY, Mass. - Following strong senior campaigns, the Endicott men's golf team saw Athan Goulos (Peabody, Mass.) and Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) earn First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) honors on Thursday morning, as announced by the league office earlier today. The duo finished their careers by leading the Gulls to a runner-up finish at the CCC Championship last weekend to close with one CCC title and three runner-up finishes.

    BEVERLY, Mass. - Last year Peabody’s Athan Goulos was named Commonwealth Coast Conference Golfer of the Year and first team All CCC. Goulos is one of 10 Endicott College golfers back from last year’s championship team that earned a berth at the NCAA nationals in Florida.

    Following a massive charge up the leader board on day two of the Wildcat Spring Invitational, the Endicott golf team finished fifth at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I. this weekend. The Gulls posted a team score of 634 after shooting a 328 on day one, and closing with a round of 306 on day two.

    BREWSTER, Mass. - In the final competition of the fall semester, the Endicott golf team finished sixth at the 83rd Annual NEIGA Championship among 19 NCAA Division III schools. The Gulls were led by Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) who finished tied for 10th in the 94 man field.

    PORTSMOUTH, R.I. - The Endicott golf team claimed the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Fall Qualifier on Thursday afternoon by 11 strokes over runner-up Western New England. The spring championship will be held at a site that is still to be determined, on Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30. The winner of the spring championship receives an automatic bid into the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

It was the second straight event that the Gulls have finished second in, two days afer having finished second at the Husson Invitational as well.

    MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Led by Tyler Smith's (Morgan, Vt.) two-round total of 151 (76-75), Endicott finished 18th at the Duke Nelson Invitational on Sunday. Smith has now finished as Endicott's top golfer in both events on the season.
