BEVERLY, MA - Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional), the 2006 Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Year, First Team All New England and NFHCA All-Region field hockey selection, was awarded Best of Show at this year's International Interior Design Association (IIDA) National Sustainable Design Competition.
Jen, a B.S. in Interior Design, submitted her project, "Whitford Oncology and Hematology Center," based upon the encouragement of her ID-302 Studio III professor Merle Craig. According to Professor Craig, Jen's project "demonstrated an advanced understanding of sustainable interior planning, materials and strategies." The IIDA National Sustainable Design Competition "Best of Show" award includes a cash prize, publication in both the IIDA Student Magazine and Metropolis Magazine and a trip to Chicago, Illinois for the GreenBuild Conference in November.
"Jen is the epitome of a student athlete," said head field hockey coach Breanne Wojnarowicz. "She is one of our hardest workers on the field and it is only fitting that she receives such an outstanding award."
