2015 UDA New England Dance Championship
BEVERLY, Mass.- For the fifth consecutive year, the Endicott College dance team has been named New England Regional champion. The Gulls, led by seventh year head coach Nicole Sao Pedro-Welch, parlayed their momentum from a historic performance at nationals into a record setting performance at the regional competition.
The team was the highest scoring team from New England at UDA Nationals in their division while setting program records in both open jazz and pom by beating their own scores from the previous year, by 10 points. The Gulls returned home to prepare for regionals on the 22nd of February. Once there, the Gulls finished first in Open Pom and second in Open Jazz to claim their fifth straight regional title. The Endicott dance team is proud of their achievements and they are also excited to add another title to their championship banner.
"I am so proud of the team's successes this year," stated Sao Pedro-Welch. "The eight seniors who have impacted this team for four years were able to finish their time on dance team on a high note. I am so proud of them and they will be missed dearly." The eight seniors on this year's squad were Hannah Davis (Vernon, Conn.), Mary Ferruolo (Vernon, Conn.), O'Lyvia Fuller (Dracut, Mass.), Madeline Murphy (Marion, Mass.), Rhiannon Pearson (Tolland, Conn.), Alie Romano (Chelmsford, Mass.), Erika Streib (Ellington, Conn.) and Nicole Terrell (Shelton, Conn.).
