Shelby Barden, MS, LAT, ATC enters her third academic year at Endicott as an Athletic Trainer. Barden was officially hired in October of the 2021-22 academic year.

Barden comes to Endicott from Dartmouth-Hitchcock / Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, New Hampshire. While at Dartmouth-Hitchcock / Cheshire Medical, Barden served as a clinical athletic trainer performing several duties including post-operative wound assessment, patient education, and supervised athletic training students from nearby Keene State College, among several other duties. She also was responsible for coordinating orthopedic surgeons and physician assistants, presenting patients' cases, and other administrative duties.

Prior to her time at Dartmouth-Hitchcock / Cheshire Medical, Barden was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at East Stroudsburg University (East Stroudsburg, Pa.). Barden served as the head athletic trainer at Wilson Southern Middle School and assistant athletic trainer at Wilson High School. She also managed rehabilitation programs, held wrestling weight certifications for high school and middle school wrestlers, and provided sport coverage for football, wrestling, soccer, field hockey, water polo, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, and basketball.

Barden is a 2019 graduate of Plymouth State University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Barden's involvement at Plymouth State included being the president of the Plymouth State Athletic Training Student Organization for two years. Barden also worked with the football, baseball, women's basketball, field hockey, and women's lacrosse programs. 

After her time at Plymouth State, Barden went on to obtain her Master of Science in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2020.

Barden is American Red Cross CPR/AED certified and holds licensure in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Additionally, Barden is a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA), the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association, and the New Hampshire Athletic Trainers Association. 

Aside from her athletic training background, Barden is heavily involved in equestrian (riding) serving multiple roles within the sport including her time at Rabbit Run Farm (barn laborer), Friendship Field Farm (barn manager/assistant director), Seacoast Horse Show Series (jump crew/assistant manager), and the New Hampshire Hunter Jumper Association (jump crew).
