VandeMerkt Named CCC Rookie of the Week For the Third Time

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Alleigh VandeMerkt (Riverside, Ill.) has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week after averaging 7.43 assists per set as the Gulls went 1-3 on the week.  The freshman setter also picked up 22 digs and assisted on four blocks.

The highlight of VandeMerkt's week came in a tough four set loss to Coast Guard.  Throughout the match, she was able to accumulate 32 assists with four digs, three aces and one assist block.  Vandemerkt nearly picked up a double –double in a four set loss to Colby-Sawyer earlier in the week as she picked up 29 assists and nine digs with one service ace.  In Endicott's win over CCC foe Wentworth,  Alleigh tallied 26 assists, two aces, four digs and one assist block. 

VandeMerkt and the Gulls are off until Wednesday when they host Curry at 7:00 p.m. for senior night.
