Norley and Guerre Take Home Volleyball Weekly Conference Awards After 3-3 Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.-  Senior libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) and freshman middle Mackenzie Guerre (Carlsbad, Calif.) were named Libero of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the Commonwealth Coast Conference.  This marks the second time that the duo has won these awards together while Guerre has also been named Player of the Week this season.  The two players have continued their stellar play and helped Endicott to a 3-3 record over the past week.  That 3-3 record included losses to two nationally ranked teams in #23 Southwestern U. and #4 Christopher Newport as well as a five set loss and a four set win against two regionally ranked opponents in UMass Boston and Tufts.

Norley's defense has been a huge part of Endicott's game as the senior has amassed 514 digs on the season.  For the week, Norley averaged 5.86 digs per set as she recorded the match high for digs in every match.  Her week was highlighted by a 30 dig effort in the four set win over Tufts as well as a 28 dig performance in a five set loss to UMass Boston.  Norley was able to achieve double-digit dig totals in every match and never recorded less than 13 during that stretch.  Ashley also recorded 13 aces on the week as she served up four of them against Salem State which tied her season high.

Guerre's offensive game has improved greatly from the beginning of the season and is a large reason why Endicott is having success as of late.  Guerre exploded against some of the nation's top teams as she tallied 62 kills while averaging 2.95 kills per set.  The freshman hit .326 on the week as she also recorded eight aces and 10 total blocks.  Guerre was saved her best performances for the most crucial matches this past week as she grabbed nine kills and a .350 hitting percentage in a conference win over Gordon.  Mackenzie then topped that by knocking down 14 kills while hitting .270 against the number two team in New England, UMass Boston.  On Sunday, Guerre hit .286 with nine kills against #23 Southwestern and was nearly flawless against #2 Christopher Newport as she had 10 kills on 20 attempts and only one hitting error for a .450 hitting percentage.  The middle has seen her hitting percentage increase and it now sits at a season high .287 and she is averaging 2.37 kills per set.
