School Records Fall At D3 New England's

BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's track and field team broke three school records at the NCAA Division III New England Championships on Sunday evening, hosted by the TRACK at new balance. 

Julia Maclaine (North Easton, Mass.), Kaylee Whitney (Milford, Mass.), Brianna am Ende (Coventry, R.I.), and Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) highlighted the Gulls' efforts by smashing the school record in the 4x400-meter relay.

The group ran a time of 4:14.47 (15th overall/23 entrants) to break the previous record by 5.21 seconds (4:19.68, 2/25/23).

Maclaine opened the relay with a team-best leg of 1:02.43, while Whitney, am Ende, and Shepard followed with splits of 1:04.37, 1:04.16, and 1:03.11. 


ADDITIONAL SCHOOL RECORDS

In the distance medley relay (DMR), Whitney and am Ende combined with Allie Devoe (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Alexa Suchy (Guilford, Conn.) to run a school record time of 13:15.38 (17th overall/22 teams).

Splits for the Gulls' DMR included: Devoe (1200m, 4:02.52), Whitney (400m, 1:04.40), am Ende (800m, 2:34.44), Suchy (1600m, 5:33.22).

The quartet bettered the previous record by 10.55 seconds (13:25.93, 2023 New England's). 

Devoe and am Ende were members of last season's DMR school record group.

Meanwhile, Shepard rounded out the list of school record performances in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.10 (banked track record).


ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • Kinneal Dickens (Merrimac, Mass.) ranked 19th out of 27 competitors in the 60-meter hurdles (9.71), four spots ahead of her seed placement on the event's initial performance list.
  • Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) produced a time of 5:16.14 in the one mile run (second all-time).
  • Kaylee Carver (Abington, Mass.), Deanna Dukas (Woburn, Mass.), Gabby Peniche (Milford, Mass.), and Nicole Woo (Newton, Mass.) registered a season-best time of 1:55.29 in the 4x200-meter relay (20th overall/24 teams).

Endicott returns to action on Saturday, March 23 at the Roger Williams University (RWU) Invitational.
