Risko, Shepard Headline Gulls At Wheaton Pre-Post Invitational

NORTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's track and field team competed at the Wheaton (Mass.) Pre-Post Invitational on Saturday evening at the Beard Field House.

Endicott produced two NCAA Division III New England Championship qualifying times, three school records, and 13 personal records (PRs) at the meet.

Hannah Risko (Albany, N.Y.) posted her second straight New England qualifying performance, this time in the one mile run (qualified in 3K last week). She is the first student-athlete in program history to qualify for multiple New England Championship indoor events in a season.

Risko bested the field of 16 competitors in 5:14.16, more than four seconds faster than the runner-up from Wesleyan (Conn.).

Her time was nearly seven seconds under the New England qualifying standard (6:44; 5:21.00).

The junior harrier also shattered the school record previously held by Aleah McKay '19 (5:33.19) set on 2/8/18 by 19.03 seconds.

Meanwhile, Hannah Shepard (Keene, N.H.) shaved 2.51 seconds off the 800-meter school record with a New England qualifying time of 2:25.59 (fourth place, 14 runners). The standard for the event is 2:26.00.

Teammate Brianna am Ende (East Lyme, Conn.) established the previous school record in the 800m run on 12/2/23 (2:28.50).

Julia Maclaine (North Easton, Mass.) rounded out the list of individual highlights with a school record time of 1:02.03 in the 400-meter dash (fourth place, 18 entries).

The freshman sprinter bettered Riley Rischitelli's '25 previous time by more than two seconds (2.05; 1:04.08, 2/11/23) and narrowly missed qualifying for New England's by .03 tenths-of-a-second (qualifying standard is 1:02 flat).
