WELLESLEY, Mass. - With the score tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation, the Endicott women's soccer team and Wellesley would need overtime to determine the outcome of the match. It was in that first overtime that senior co-captain Rachel Hanna (Chelmsford, Mass.) tallied her third goal of the season to lift Endicott to a 2-1 win in non-conference play.

After posting four game-winners in the 2016 season, a year in which she posted a career-best eight goals, Hanna netted her first game-winner of the 2017 campaign in the 97th minute of play. The senior headed Sharlotte Pernice's (West Springfield, Mass.) cross to beat the Wellesley keeper and lift the Gulls to a 2-2-0 record on the season.

The two teams played a scoreless first half that saw Endicott keeper Shelby Elwell (Litchfield, Conn.) make three saves. The Gulls out-shot the Blue 9-4 in the frame, causing Olivia Reckley (Grosse Isle, Mich.) to make two saves.

Wellesley would get on the board first, with Carley Phillips (Waterford, Conn.) scoring her third of the season in the 59th minute off a feed from Deyanira Ibarra (Los Olivos, Calif.).

Endicott would counter in the 74th minute, when senior co-captain Brady Sezon (Easton, Conn.) scored her first off a Hannah Pesci (Windham, N.H.) assist. That would be all the scoring until Hanna's game-winner just over six minutes into overtime.

BEYOND THE BOX

  • Hanna's third goal of the season now gives her 14 for her career.
  • Elwell would go on to make four saves in the match to give her her first career victory in net for the Gulls.
  • Endicott is now 6-3-2 all-time against Wellesley, having won the last two meetings between the two programs.

FOR THE FOES

  • Reckley would make three saves on the night as her record fell to 1-3-1.
  • Wellesley held an 8-4 advantage in corners for the match.
