Gulls Defeat Curry, 4-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's soccer team shut out Curry, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field. 

Endicott took a 1-0 lead when Samantha Lello (Shelton, Conn.) scored with help from Shannon Hickey (East Haddam, Conn.) at 37:30. 

Hickey then netted a goal of her own at 64:40 to extend the lead to 2-0. 

Five minutes later, Rachel Hanna (Chelmsford, Mass.) passed to Mary Verneris (Hamden, Conn.) for Endicott's third goal of the game. 

Rounding out the scoring was Catherine Elkas (Holden, Mass.) at 72:37 to secure the 4-0 victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Shelby Elwell (Litchfield, Conn.) improved to 7-2-1 on the season and recorded three saves. 
  • The Gulls held the 22-4 shot advantage. 
  • Endicott recorded seven corner kicks, while the Colonels had five
  • Elkas paced the offense with three shots.

FOR THE FOES

  • Haley Rice (Lexington, Mass.) recorded 10 saves and shifted to 0-1-2 with the loss.
  • Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) led the offense with two shots.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (8-4-1, 5-0-1 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Wednesday, October 18 at 4 p.m. Curry (8-5-3, 1-3-2 CCC) travels to University of New England for a 6:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday, October 18.
