SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Vanessa Caruccio (Winthrop, Mass.) scored twice and the Endicott defense held Husson to just one shot on goal as Endicott beat the Eagles 4-0 to close their trip to the Union College kickoff tournament.

Endicott and goalkeeper Natalie Wyrsch (Dover, N.H.) recorded their second clean sheet of the season and the Gulls improved to 3-1.

First year Paige Marinelli (Burlington, Conn.) opened the scoring after 24 minutes, finishing a give and go with Lexi Dussi (Boxford, Mass.) and slotting the ball into the lower right corner of the Husson goal.

Caruccio netted her first tally of the day just sixteen seconds before the half, taking a pass from sophomore Hannah Schneidenbach (Charlestown, R.I.) and poking the ball past Husson keeper Jessica Poulin (Albion, Maine).

Poulin, who made 10 stops in 90 minutes in a losing effort, dealt with pressure all afternoon, as the Gulls outshot their opponents 28-7 and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Endicott scored twice more after the break, with Chelsea Garlock (Meriden, Conn.) heading in a corner kick in the 68th minute for her third goal of the year. The ball was delivered in by freshman Audrey Parolin (Cumberland, Maine), collecting her first collegiate assist and point.

Caruccio capped the scoring just over two minutes from the final whistle with a one-on-one move into the box, finishing on the right side of the Husson goal.

Senior Meghan O'Neil (Hartford, Vt.) had the only shot on frame for Husson.

Endicott will return home to host Plymouth State on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

Husson fell to 0-5 after suffering back to back 4-0 defeats in Schnectady. The Eagles will try to get in the win column on Wednesday when they travel to St. Joe's Maine for a 4:00 pm kickoff.
