Vendela Jonsson Claims All-USCHO All-Rookie Team Accolades

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman goaltender Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) has been named to the All-United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) All-Rookie Team, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Jonsson, who is the first student-athlete in program history to claim any honor from the USCHO, finished her freshman campaign for the Gulls with a 12-6-4 record, 540 saves, a .946 save percentage, and a 1.36 goals against average (GAA) in 22 starts. Jonsson currently ranks second in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) in minutes (1368:56), goals against (31), GAA, save percentage, wins, and win percentage (.636), third in games played/games started, and fourth in saves.

Nationally among all NCAA Division II & III goaltenders, Jonsson ranks fourth in shutouts (8), eighth in GAA and save percentage, and No. 22 in winning percentage.

Endicott finished its first-year as an NCAA Division III varsity program in 2015-16 with a 14-7-4 overall record (11-1-2 CHC) en route to an appearance in the CHC Tournament championship game.
